Sir, during ascension the final velocity is zero and the initial velocity is not zero. I couldn't understand how did you take the time of ascension to be (2l/a)^0.5. Please elaborate sir.

Respected sir Since the block is being launched it must have an initial velocity u. But this fact is ignored in the solution...
